The LG ThinQ app suffered from a fragmented UX and limited AI integration, resulting in inconsistent smart home control and usability gaps across global markets. Families faced difficulty in safely and intuitively managing appliances across multiple devices and generations, highlighting the need for a unified, family-centered smart home experience.
To create a seamless, AI-powered smart home experience that supports safe and intuitive appliance control and shared access for all family members. This involved improving appliance pre-configuration, enabling fluid AI-driven control, optimizing energy usage based on user behavior, and enhancing usability for multi-generational households globally.
The redesign increased platform engagement and performance, achieving a 43% rise in daily active users, 24% energy savings, 37% improvement in AI voice recognition accuracy, and a 51% boost in international retention. The unified, family-centered experience set a new benchmark for global smart home platforms and enhanced convenience, safety, and connected interactions for families worldwide.
